VASCO
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said his government had a target of December 19 to complete mega development projects in the State.
Sawant was speaking to reporters at a news conference in Vasco to launch the manifesto of BJP-backed candidates from the Vasco constituency in the presence of Vasco BJP MLA Carlos Almeida and Vasco BJP Mandal President Deepak Naik.
"I want to assure the people of Goa that this government has never stopped development works due to a financial crunch. In the last three months alone, we have spent around Rs 1,000 crore on development works under different departments despite the pandemic.”
“We have a target to focus on and complete major development works in the State by December 19," said Sawant.
"We are taking up various development works under Goa@60 and India@75 initiatives. We will also take up and complete various infrastructure development and human development works under Swayampurna Goa in rural and urban areas before December 19. We want to ensure that 100% of government schemes reach every person in the community," said Sawant.
The chief minister said various projects and schemes under various departments like PWD, WRD, power and GSIDC are being put up under the Goa Pragati programme and efforts are on to complete it by 2021.
“For all this to be achieved, it is important that the local representative be active and of the same mindset," said Sawant.
