Laxman Desai, a sub-inspector at Pernem police station, sustained serious injuries in an accident late Tuesday night on National Highway at Mahakhajan-Dhargal.
The accident occurred when Sub-Inspector Desai was riding his scooter. Due to a landslide at Mahakhajan-Dhargal, the road was blocked, leading to diversion of vehicular traffic through a single lane. Desai’s scooter was struck by a speeding car, resulting in severe injuries. He was promptly transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
Authorities have filed a case against the car driver for reckless driving.
