Physiotherapy centreat Aldona
MAPUSA: A full-fledged physiotherapy centre sponsored by Helpage India has been set up at the home for the aged in Aldona.
The centre was inaugurated by Aldona MLA Glen Ticlo. Aldona Parish Priest Fr Arlindo D’Mello, Helpage India manager Dattaprasad Pawaskar and Avinash Misquita, honorary president of the aged home were also present.
“The centre is equipped with a traction unit, wax bath equipment, treadmill, IR and ultrasound therapy, portable shockwave therapy, shoulder wheel, massage table and the works,” said Savio Figueiredo.
Presently, physiotherapist Deora D’Mello will provide services till a regular physiotherapist is found. Residents of the Home will get the services free of charge, while senior citizens and those above 55 years from Aldona and neighbouring villages will have to pay a nominal charge.
Ticlo lauded the service of the sisters, staff and committee and thanked Helpage India for sponsoring the centre.
