Panaji: A 46-year-old succumbed to injuries hours after an accident between a truck and a bike at Porvorim this morning.
The accident occured near Navratna Hotel on the Panaji-Mapusa road, when the two wheeler collided with the truck while in the left side of the heavy vehicle.
"The scooter rider Hiralal Murgaonkar was on left side of the truck wherein the truck collided with the scooter and both rider and Pillion rider fell on road. The pillion rider Vijaya Murgaonkar sustained serious injury and was declared dead in GMC," North SP Akshat Kaushal said.
While the deceased 's post mortem was carried out and body handed over to relatives, accused truck driver MD Afzal was arrested after questioning.
The accused, a resident of Ponda, is a native of Hazaribagh Jharkhand.
