Water supply to Agonda was disrupted after a feeding pipeline ruptured at Voile-Agonda on Wednesday night.
The 200 mm pipeline got ruptured, prompting PWD operators to stop water supply to Agonda storage tank. About four PWD (water supply) workers began restoration works, while all the localities in Agonda village went without water for the full day on Thursday.
It may be recalled that PWD supplies water supply for about one hour on alternate days to the entire village.
Though Agonda has two water storage tanks, but only one tank is partly serviced by water pumped from Shristhal water treatment plant, which obtains water from Chapoli dam. The Mudkud pump is however not operated these days, as the river has gone dry, inviting complaints for improper water supply.
Residents of several areas have complained that there is no water supply, while few receiving complained of low pressure.
Meanwhile, the ruptured pipeline was restored late Thursday evening, however, water supply was not resumed with sources pointing out that the feeding of storage tank will take place only later in the night.
