Water supply in some parts of Bardez was affected after a pipeline was damaged near the Assonora petrol pump on Thursday afternoon.
The damage to the pipeline has affected water supply to Tivim and Aldona constituencies.
The PWD has taken up repair work and is expected to restart water supply by Saturday. “Repair work is underway and by Friday afternoon, the work will be completed. Hopefully, water supply would be normal thereafter,” said PWD engineer Shambhu Malvankar.
Meanwhile, Aldona MLA Glenn Ticlo said the Assistant Engineer (water) Mahesh Kennaude had informed him that there has been a major leakage on the main water line supplying water from Assonora to Aldona, due to which water supply has been stopped.
“Work has already commenced on the same and water supply should be restored within 48 hours,” said Ticlo.
