Repair work to begin today morning

Water supply to Porvorim constituency will be restricted on Saturday and Sunday after the pipeline supplying raw water to the Porvorim Water Treatment Plant ruptured at Duler-Mapusa on Friday evening.
The 1,200 mm water pipeline ruptured and huge amounts of water were wasted in the process. Raw water from the Tillari canal has been connected to the Porvorim Water Treatment Plant from the Cunchelim pumping station to Duler, Peddem and Bastora through a water pipeline by the Water Resources Department.
Water supply operations came to a standstill and the contractor is expected to begin repairs of the water pipeline on Saturday morning. As a result, there will be restricted water supply in all areas of Porvorim constituency for the next two days.
