The Sanyojak North Goa District of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Bajrang Dal Swapnil Kambli has filed a complaint with Penha de Franca panchayat that an unauthorised construction is being carried out by AL-MU-MIN association in Survey No 106/1 at Alto-Betim near Women’s Hostel without obtaining permissions from the government authorities concerned.
It has been claimed in the complaint that AL-MU-MIN association could not show any documents when they were requested to produce the same.
“Hence the panchayat should conduct an inquiry in the matter and issue a
stop-work order to the association and demolish the structure if found to be constructed illegally,” the complainant stated.
When contacted the Sarpanch of Penha de Franca panchayat Swapnil Chodankar confirmed having received the complaint from Swapnil Kambli and stated that AL-MU-MIN was issued the construction license in the 2007.
As per the rules in force, the licensee is required to commence the construction of the building within three years from the date of issuing the license, failing which he has to apply for its renewal. Since the said association has not applied for the renewal of the license, the panchayat has issued a stop-work order notice to the association.
If AL-MU-MIN applies for renewal of the license then it can continue with the construction, Chodankar said.
