Plaint filed over fake identities
PANAJI: Cyber Crime police station on Thursday registered a complaint against an unknown person for creating fake email identities in the name of Sadanand Shet Tanavde, joint secretary to chief minister.
On the complaint of Tanavde, an offense was registered under Section 465 and 469 of IPc and Section 66 C of Information Technology Act, 2000.
The accused person created two email ids, [email protected] and [email protected]. The accused then proceeded to use these email ids to send emails to the offices of Directorate of Health Services and Directorate of Education while forcing the letterhead of the CM with the intention of harming Tanavde's reputation, it has been alleged.
PI Cyber Crime Rajesh Job is investigating the matter further.
