Plans on to issue power bills online; TCS asked to develop mobile app

the goan I networkrPANAJI rr“Earlier, we used to take readings from the power metres and the bills were generated by Goa Electronics Limited (GEL). But since last three months we are generating the bills. Within the next three months, every individual household will get the bill on monthly basis, right at the beginning of the month,” Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar said. r“In future, we are planning online issuance of bills. We have already instructed Tata Consultancy Services which is developing an app for us, wherein the bill will be sent to the consumer through this app itself and he or she will be able to also pay it online,” rhe said. rLamenting that only a few consumers pay their bills online, he said, “Very few are pay bills online. This app will make things easy for consumers. The meter owner will have to submit us his number and he will receive the bill once he opens the app.”
