Officers from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in New Delhi visited the remote Cotigao village in Canacona taluka.
According to Cotigao Sarpanch Anandu Desai, the team of IAS and IPS Officers are on a two-day study tour of the living conditions, people’s needs and geographical conditions of the indigenous community in the remote areas.
“The officers will submit their report to the PMO,” informed Dessai.
Desai said the New Delhi team had a consent letter issued by Collector (South) and Canacona Mamlatdar to undertake the study tour.
On Monday, the team visited the panchyat office and explained their programme.
The team was welcomed accordingly, and extended all facilities to visit the remote places of Baddem, Avali areas over the next two days, understanding the people’s problems and needs there.
“After that, they also toured the remote areas of Nadkem, Keri and other interior parts of village in the panchayat area and interacted with the residents,” said Dessai.
