Police arrest accused in Vasco murder case the goan I network VASCO Azim Shaikh, an accused in the murder of a taxi driver Deepak Dalvi, was arrested by Vasco police on Monday evening. According to Vasco Police Inspector Nilesh Rane, though an offence was registered against Shaikh in the murder case on Thursday evening, he could not be arrested till Monday as his previous bail had not been cancelled. Rane said that on Monday the court cancelled the bail of Shaikh and he was later placed under arrest. “We had added Section 302 IPC for murder in the offence against Shaikh, but he could not be arrested as his bail was not be cancelled after the court decided to keep the final say on the bail cancellation for Monday.” “The bail of the accused has been cancelled and he has been placed under arrest. We have taken him in custody and we are conducting further investigation. We will seek his remand in custody on Tuesday,” said Rane. It may be recalled that Vasco Police had booked Shaikh on Thursday on charges of murder, after a fellow taxi driver injured in a brawl outside a bar in Vasco died of injuries on Thursday.
