Curchorem police on Friday questioned 10 persons as part of investigations into the death of Rajesh Dessai, brother of former minister Ramrao Dessai.
“However, nothing suspicious was found during the interrogations,” PI Ravi Dessai, while speaking to The Goan.
Curchorem PSI Arjun Sangodkar added that Curchorem Police is conducting the probe from various angles.
“The postmortem report has suspected oral poisoning. The call list details of the phone belonging to the deceased and other details will be examined,” said PSI Sangodkar.
It may be recalled that Rajesh Dessai was found lying dead at his farmhouse at Soliyem-Curchorem on Thursday, barely hours after he had celebrated his birthday.
The body was referred for postmortem examination at Hospicio Hospital, Margao and doctors issued a provisional cause of death as suspicion of oral poisoning. The viscera has been preserved for qualitative and quantitative analysis. The body was handed over to the relatives for final rites, police said.
