Bicholim DySP Gurudas Gawde on Thursday appealed to the public to work together with the police to prevent crime in society.

DySP Gawde was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the police beat post at Advai-Pedani in Bhironda-Sattari.

Stating that the police beat post was set up with the efforts of Bhironda Sarpanch Uday Singh Rane, DySP Gawde said the police beat post would be of great benefit to people and nearby government secondary schools.

Valpoi PI Sagar Ekoskar said he would pay special attention to ensure that the police beat post functions smoothly and caters to people in the area.

Sarpanch Uday Singh Rane thanked local MLA Pratapsing Rane and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane for their cooperation in facilitating the police beat post.

“For the last several years, there had been demands and efforts to set up a police outpost in the area and I appeal to citizens to cooperate with the police,” said the sarpanch.

Sources said the panchayat has provided free space for the police beat post.
