MARGAO
The Maina-Curtorim police has registered a FIR against the former president and General Secretary of Anjuman Islahul Muslameen in respect of the formation of New Executive Committee of Anjuman Islahul Muslameen, Malbhat, Margao.
The action comes in the wake of a complaint lodged by Imtiyaz Bepari, founder member of Anjuman Islahul Muslameen, Rumdamol-Davorlim.
In his complaint, Imtiyaz alleged that the accused persons namely Ashraf Pandial and Shaikh Munaf, being former president and general secretary respectively of Anjuman Islahul Muslameen, Rumdamol-Davorlim, with their common intention during the general body meeting of Anjuman Islahul Muslameen Malbhat Margao, held on January 5, 2025 at Anjuman Hall, Rumdamol, Davorlim, allegedly forged the signature of committee member namely Abdul Kadar Sab Kundur, as one of the attendee of general body meeting, who had already passed away on February 24, 2024.
The complainant has further alleged and in continuation to their act for the purpose of cheating produced the extract of the minutes of the general body meeting before the Inspector General of Societies, South Zone, Margao, as genuine in respect of the formation of New Executive Committee of Anjuman Islahul Muslameen, Malbhat, Margao.
Offences under Section 336(3), 340(2) read with section 3(5) of the BNS 2023 have been registered.
