Vasco police on Wednesday rescued a 13-year-old girl from Vasco from a slum area in Delhi and an 18-year-old boy has been arrested in this connection.
Sources in Vasco police said the girl and an 18-year-old boy had left from Margao and boarded the Mangala Express train to Delhi on March 28.
"Though attempts were made to check the train at Ratnagiri, both managed to give authorities a slip. However, after reaching Delhi, the girl called her friend to inform that she had reached safely, while the boy called his friend for financial aid.”
“Vasco police swung into action and flew to Delhi early Wednesday morning. The location was very hostile and is a slum area at Multani Mohalla, Geeta colony, New Delhi. Vasco police, however, managed to bring both persons back to Vasco,” said the source.
The accused, Manoj Kumar (18), a native of UP but residing at Vasco, has been arrested and investigations are in progress.
