While the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) hosted an exclusive ‘thanksgiving lunch’ solely for the top brass in the government departments, medal winners, and coaches on Tuesday, leaving the broader efforts of the entire team unacknowledged, the Goa Police has taken a more inclusive approach, expressing gratitude for the commendable job done by all its ranks.
Director General of Police Jaspal Singh has reassured the entire force of suitable rewards, whose collective efforts contributed to the success of the National Games in terms of security and traffic arrangements.
“All units of Goa Police and their Supervisory Officers have done a commendable job for thorough professional security, law and order, and traffic arrangements...Deputy Superintendents of Police, Police Inspectors, and other ranks would also be suitably rewarded for their good work,” the DGP said in a specially convened meeting.
He also lauded the efforts of the Cluster and Venue Commanders for their daily coordination work with different agencies. Earlier, Singh issued commendation letters to the Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police, and Superintendents of Police, ‘for excellent arrangements during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Goa to inaugurate the Games on October 26.
The police were deployed round the clock at the venues with the DGP claiming that all the police teams reported to work on time and also provided traffic facilitation.
