Police trace abducted girl

A team of Panaji police has successfully traced a girl abducted from Panaji Municipal market in Tirupati, Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. The girl is presently in safe custody of the police.

Acting on a complaint lodged on Monday, a team including a lady constable was dispatched to trace the abducted girl, who was rescued on Tuesday. The complainant stated that the girl was abducted from Panaji Municipal market between 9 am and 11.30 am by one unknown person.

An offence was accordingly registered under Section 365 of the Indian Penal Code for abduction with intent of wrongful confinement.
