Former minister Mickky Pacheco on Monday signalled a possible return to electoral politics, saying he is open to contesting the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.

Speaking at a media briefing, Pacheco claimed he is capable of contesting from any constituency across the State, not just his traditional strongholds of Benaulim or Nuvem. “People of Goa know Mickky Pacheco. No one will point fingers at Mickky for having taken money to do any work,” he said.

Asked whether he plans to align with any political party, the former MLA said he has been approached by several parties but will decide his next steps after consulting with his supporters.

When questioned about his electoral defeats, Pacheco responded that voters may have wanted to experiment with new faces, hoping they would deliver better governance. “But they have seen the outcome,” he remarked.

Responding to queries about his recent meeting with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Pacheco clarified that he had accompanied two individuals with interests in the hospitality industry who had sought an audience with the CM.

The former minister held the media briefing to demand accountability of government officials while discharging their functions. “The government officials are mandated to uphold the rule of law, especially against illegal constructions. The High Court is presently monitoring illegal constructions and I hope the authorities will act against illegalities as per the High Court directions,” he added.
