Touched by the services of linesmen who worked overtime and risked their lives to restore power supply after the recent cyclone, residents of Gopalnagar and Housing Board Colony in Porvorim collected Rs 1.45 lakh and handed it to a linesman who got injured while undertaking electrical work atop a pole on May 18.
The linesman, Uday Kashalkar, was at work to restore power supply after trees got uprooted during the recent Cyclone Tauktae and disrupted power supply of Gopalnagar and Housing Board colony, when he came in contact with live wires and fell off an electricity pole at Oval Park.
