PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar on Thursday assured that PWD would release an extra 5 MLD of water from the newly constructed 15 MLD water treatment plant to residents of Porvorim by May 10, with the balance 10 MLD of water to be released in a phased manner.
Pauskar was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Science and Community Park at Pundaliknagar-Porvorim in the presence of Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte, Penha de Franca Sarpanch Swapnil Chodankar, Dy Sarpanch Manisha Naik, panch members Sham Kamat, Gurudas Vernekar and ZP Member Kavita Naik.
“Residents of Porvorim are facing water shortage at the moment I want to complete work on the water treatment plant as early as possible. The PWD will release 5 MLD of water to residents of Porvorim by May 10, while the balance 10 MLD of water will be released in a phased manner,” said Pauskar.
Commenting on the proposed Sewage Treatment Plant, the minister said the government would try and buy land if the KTC did not offer land to them and added that all efforts would be made to set up the STP as early as possible.
Stating that he was impressed with the Science and Community Park project and free WiFi facilities at the site, Pauskar said the pending work of beautification at the Science and Community Park would be completed soon.
