Postal van stuck in mud at Karmalghat

Postal van stuck in mud at Karmalghat

CANACONA

A postal delivery van on its daily delivery trip from Margao to Canacona got stuck in the mud at the top of Karmalghat early Wednesday morning.

The postal van got stuck in the loose soil which the PWD (NH) contractor had used to fill the widened portion of the NH66 road on top of Karmalghat, as it was descending the Karmalghat to reach the Canacona Post Office.

The driver notified his superiors about the incident and waited for a crane to arrive to pull the van.

Incidentally, a motorist passing along the highway route noticed the stranded van and enquired if any help was needed to pull the van.

The good Samaritan managed to pull the van out of the mud with the help of his vehicle, thereby enabling the day’s post to be successfully delivered to the Canacona Post Office.
