Deepak Shet, another gram sabha member, said last year the villagers of Pirna had come out in protest against such similar power woes.
“At that time, the electricity department was promised additional staff but that was never fulfilled later,” Shet said.
Sensing the mood of the members, Panchayat Secretary, Avinash Palni promised that he will write to the electricity JE, Colvale to pay a visit to the panchayat office.
The gram sabha members said if the JE fails to come to the panchayat, then the people will agitate over the power scenario in the village.
Suraj Shetty had asked for the audit report of the panchayat of 2013-14 and 2014-15 in the last gram sabha.
The panchayat secretary informed that audit report for the year 2013-14 was ready, but the 2014-15 report was not ready yet.
The panchayat passed a few of the proposals on Indira Awas and other government schemes at the gram sabha.
In the seven-member panchayat, five panch members including Sarpanch Surendra Chari and Deputy Sarpanch Poonam Sawnt were present. Panchas Devanand Naik and Dinesh Khalap were absent.
