Employees and staff of Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) carried out a large-scale cleanliness drive at Hollant beach on Saturday, cleaning the beach stretch and surrounding public areas as part of the company’s environmental awareness initiative. The drive was led by PPL Chief Manufacturing Officer Suresh Pramanik and witnessed active participation from company employees, who collected litter and helped restore the cleanliness of the popular tourist destination. Hollant beach, one of South Goa’s scenic coastal attractions, draws a large number of visitors and picnickers throughout the year.
During the programme, company representatives appealed to tourists and local residents to help keep the beach clean by avoiding littering and ensuring proper disposal of waste. They stressed that public cooperation is vital for preserving the area’s natural beauty. PPL also announced plans to install dustbins and other facilities to improve waste management at the beach. Velsao Deputy Sarpanch Kishan Sankolkar, who attended the drive, commended the company’s efforts to protect the coastal environment and promote responsible civic behaviour.
