The rains saw a major power outage that affected many parts of Bardez taluka.
According to Porvorim electricity department Assistant Engineer Anil Kumar, the power shut down at Porvorim plateau and surrounding areas was attributed to a problem at Tivim.
“The Porvorim sub-station gets its power supply from Tivim. A problem has occurred at Tivim and hence, there is no power supply to entire Porvorim plateau and surrounding areas.
Efforts are in progress to restore power supply,” Kumar told The Goan.
