The Common Minimum Programme is just a formality and the real work has already begun, Goa Forward supremo and Agriculture and Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai has said.

Speaking to reporters at a private event in the city, Sardesai said that the main principles have already been accepted by all the members of the coalition.
“First of all we have given a date of May 30 for its announcement. The announcement is just a formality. The principles are already being implemented,” Sardesai said.
“We are trying to protect the sons of the soil and nature. We have tried to subsidize rice and fish. We are trying to promote mechanization and double the income of farmers income by 2022. Mechanisation for transplantation and harvesting is being promoted. We are in talks with some companies. It is a matter of time. By next Sunday we will announce a scheme called ‘Farmers’ forward 2022’. It is a tall target, we have to take steps now,” Sardesai said.
“One of the issues was declaring the coconut tree as a state tree, I’ve already put it to the agriculture department… that will be done shortly,” Sardesai said.
“In the TCP Department we are trying to preserve Goa through preservation of our architectural identity,” Sardesai said reiterating his commitment to the transfer of development rights as well as to completing the regional plan.
“We should have RP 2050, the year doesn’t matter only the path towards it does. We need to have a clear line of action of how to protect and what incentives are given
to those who protect,” Sardesai said.
