PANAJI

Goa is redefining its tourism landscape by placing culture at the heart of its strategy, stated Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, adding that a year-round festival calendar created last year has sustained tourist engagement beyond the peak season and established Goa as a global cultural tourism hub.

Goa’s vibrant traditions, festivals, and folklore will be showcased to the world, with São João, Chikal Kalo, Bonderam, Veerbhadra, and Shigmo emerging as flagship cultural attractions. These festivals will provide immersive experiences, enabling visitors to engage with Goa’s living heritage and dynamic community-driven tourism model.

Additionally, initiatives to promote MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism, wellness tourism, and eco-tourism are being actively pursued to cater to both domestic and international markets, pointed out Khaunte.
