Prohibitory order issued ahead of Budget Session

In view of the upcoming Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly, the Office of the Superintendent of North Goa has prohibited any activity within the Assembly complex that will disrupt the proceedings of the House.  

As per the order on Thursday, the restrictions will remain in force from March 27 to till the end of the session on March 30. The order comes after the District Magistrate, based on recommendations of the North Goa Police, imposed Section 144 CrPC within around 500 mtrs of the Assembly at Porvorim and Panaji police station jurisdictions respectively.  

“No person or class of persons shall convene or collect as an assembly or take out procession or stage any demonstration on the road, street or through fare. There shall not be any public meeting… In no case, processions, morcha, rally, dharna, etc shall be allowed within the radius of 500 mtrs around the Assembly Complex at Porvorim and area under the Panaji PS as promulgated under 144 CrPC by the DM,” reads the order by North SP Nidhin Valsan.
