Household appliances at a house were damaged when a protection wall collapsed in Valpoi town on Saturday.
According to sources, the protection wall adjacent to Ajit Fatarpekar's house in Ward 10 of the municipality collapsed at about 9 am.
On receiving the news, Valpoi Municipal Council (VMC) Chairperson Sahazin Sheikh visited the site to take stock of the situation.
When contacted, Shaikh said the protection wall collapsed near the house of Ajit Fatarpekar due to heavy rains at around 9 am and water entered into Fatarpekar's house, damaging his household items.
“The Sattari Mamlatdar was notified and the talathi was sent to assess the damages. A survey will be conducted by the municipal engineer and efforts will be made to construct a new protection wall as soon as possible,” said the VMC chairperson.
