Members of the Bajrang Dal, several Hindu organisations and other citizens staged a protest on Sunday against the demolition of a gaushala (cow shelter) at Rivona. The protesters raised slogans in support of cow protection and demanded action against those responsible.

The protesters said they were deeply concerned over the demolition, calling it an unfortunate and unlawful act. They alleged that the shelter was demolished using heavy machinery and demanded an impartial inquiry into the incident.

Addressing the gathering, speakers said that even if there were disputes over land ownership or property rights, such issues should be settled through legal channels and not by forceful demolition. They said the matter should have been resolved through the courts and urged the authorities to uphold the rule of law.

The protesters also demanded criminal action against those involved in using heavy machinery to demolish the shelter. They further alleged that attempts were made to stop people from rescuing the cattle during the demolition.

The demonstrators urged the government and police to conduct a thorough investigation and take strict action against those found responsible.

They also appealed to the authorities to protect gaushalas and ensure the welfare of cattle across the State. The protesters further demanded that the demolished shelter be rebuilt at the earliest.
