Provide Bal Rath buses to students attending extra classes, govt urged

MARGAO

Nationalist Congress Party’s Nuvem block president Francis De Melo has urged the Education Department to make available Bal Rath bus service to drop home the students attending remedial/ extra classes.

In a letter to the Education Director, Francis stressed the need to provide safety for the students attending remedial/extra classes on the grounds that many students attending the remedial classes have to leave school after 2 pm.

“There is apprehension among the parents, especially parents of girl students, with regards to their safety and security as they travel from school to their homes. I have observed that during the late afternoon, there are hardly any people in the area around the school. The students walking on the side of the road are at serious of being hit by speeding vehicles Also, there is no one to protect students against anti-social elements who may want to harm/kidnap the students,” he said, while suggesting the Education department make available Bal Rath bus service to drop the student home safely and protect them and also help ease the concern of parents.
