An official investigation into a purported mega recruitment scam of police sub-inspectors (PSIs) has concluded. Five committees, each headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) have submitted their respective reports to their superiors.
The reports will thereafter be submitted to the government for further action, a senior officer told The Goan.
The Office of Director General of Police on June 15 constituted the committees while directing it to view the video footage of the physical efficiency test of candidates. The department faced severe criticism over the alleged rigging of physical efficiency grades conducted on November 17, 2021, to November 25, 2021.
The government had advertised filling up of posts for PSIs, constables and home guards in March 2021. The physical tests during the recruitment process however came under the scanner when some candidates who did not meet the criteria were passed. An internal inquiry also confirmed the rigging for which around Rs 70 lakh was spent.
