Porvorim Police on Thursday evening arrested a youth from Hinjewadi-Pune on charges of possessing 80 grammes of cocaine valued at Rs 8 lakh.
Police was alerted that a person was proceeding to Porvorim to deliver the drugs to a prospective customer. A raid was conducted and Rituraz Pande (25) was allegedly found possessing 80 grams of cocaine.
The accused person has been arrested under the NDPS Act and is presently in police custody.
The raiding team consisted of PSI Pratik BhatPrabhu, head constables Sandeep Parab, constables Madhav Naik, Yogesh Shinde and Utkarsh Dessai, under the supervision of PI Anant Gaonkar and guidance of SP North Shobit Saxena.
Further investigation is in progress.
