The Mapusa police have apprehended a murder accused from Punjab who had been hiding in a hotel at Anjuna.
The accused, Vishnu Vishnoi (32), a resident of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was intercepted after a tip-off from Punjab police regarding his whereabouts. The accused was hiding along with six associates.
Details shared by Goa Police PRO Rahul Gupta reveal that Vishnoi is wanted in connection with a murder case registered at Abohar police station, Fazilka district, and another case under the Arms Act at Punjab State Crime Police Station, SAS Nagar.
A 20-member special team of Mapusa sub-division conducted the operation on Tuesday.
While Vishnoi was handed over to Punjab State Crime Police, his six associates were bound over since their involvement in the crime had not been established.
