Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Patkar has questioned TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane's appeal to register complaints regarding land irregularities on his personal email ID.
"Why Private Email to file complaints at TCP? Goa is not somebody's private jaagir,” claimed Amit Patkar in his tweet.
Patkar said sharing information on a private email ID would hamper transparency.
"Mr Rane, why Private email ID for filing complaints before TCP when government portal email id is available? Where is the transparency,” asked Patkar in his tweet.
In his tweet, Patkar also questioned Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on whether he had handed over Goa to Rane.
TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane has appealed to people to report any illegalities or destruction done to land, protected areas and eco-sensitive zones with photographic evidence and supporting documents by email to [email protected].
Rane has said that 61 complaints have been received since the launch of the email address regarding illegalities.
"The number has doubled in the last two days and I am extremely happy with the response we have received,” said Rane in his tweet.
Justifying his stand, Rane has said that governance must be a transparent process.
“It is up to each minister to provide people with access and a transparent system to reach out to so that their grievances and complaints can be addressed efficiently.”
"One of the complaints I have received has taken me by surprise. I have forwarded it to the department for rectification,” said Rane.
