The State government has exempted candidates belonging to the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category from the essential experience requirement for recruitment to reserved Group ‘C’ posts across various departments.
The decision, issued under Article 309 of the Constitution, supersedes an earlier government circular and will come into force with immediate effect.
According to an order issued by Under Secretary (Personnel) Raghuraj Faldesai, the exemption will apply only to Group ‘C’ posts reserved for candidates with benchmark disabilities. However, it will not override experience requirements prescribed by central regulatory bodies and institutions for specialised posts.
The government has clarified that candidates will still have to meet experience requirements set by bodies such as the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Council of Architecture, Medical Council of India, Institute of Nursing Education, Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Director General
of Training.
Similarly, experience requirements for medical, technical and other specialised posts in various government departments will continue to apply.
