P’yat by-poll process begins in Pissurlem, Thane

The by-election process for Pissurlem and Thane panchayats in Sattari taluka has begun, with polling set for May 10. Filing of nomination papers is currently underway, and candidates have started submitting their forms from different wards. In Thane panchayat, Ward 1 fell vacant after Nilesh Parwar resigned as panch member following his election to the Keri Zilla Panchayat. Vishwanath Dattaram Parwar has filed his nomination for the by-poll. The last date for filing nominations is April 28. In Pissurlem panchayat, Nau Kharwat has filed his nomination for the vacant seat in Ward 7.

GHRC orders refund of Rs 4.8 lakh deducted from retiree’s gratuity
