Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has assured to make Goa a top-class tourism hub in the near future.

Speaking at a corner meeting at Tilamol junction, Singh appealed to the locals not to fall prey to their opponents and elect Curchorem BJP candidate Nilesh Cabral once again for overall development of Curchorem.

“Our political opponents will make allegations that BJP has not done development, but all will agree that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has raised India's honour at the international level. During BJP's tenure, good governance can be seen in India,” he said.

“Earlier, women used to cook food on 'chullas' which was a health hazard, but BJP thought of giving LPG connections to households. Petrol is cheap only in Goa, which was possible during BJP's tenure, while Laadli Laxmi scheme has helped many households.”

Speaking on tourism potentials in Goa, Singh said the state would be promoted as a top-class tourism hub. “Four and six lane roads in Goa worth Rs 15,000 crore will be completed.”

BJP State president Vinay Tendulkar described Nilesh Cabral as a hardworking MLA who has worked day and night for the people.

Cabral said: “We are fortunate to have Union Minister Rajnath Singh for my guidance. In the past five years under BJP government, people have witnessed development which was for the welfare of people.”

Councillors of Curchorem Cacora Municipal Council Felix Fernandes, Vishwas Sawant Dessai, Jasmine Braganza, Omkar Vast, Balkrishna (Pinti) Hodarkar, Xeldem Sarpanch Pramod Dessai and other panchas were present.

In many ways it is a sign of the changing times in the once Catholic dominated…
