Rajnath, Gadkari coming to open key projects

With elections nearing, national bigwigs from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are expected to make a beeline to the State to inaugurate big-ticket projects which are nearing completion.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said, that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be down in Goa to inaugurate the Patradevi Samark, a memorial for freedom fighters at the northern border on August 25.

Sawant also said that Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, will also come down to Goa in September to inaugurate the Porvorim elevated corridor

The Porvorim-Guirim elevated corridor, part of the National Highway 66, will be inaugurated by Gadkari on September 10, he said.

Meanwhile, according to PWD Minister Digambar Kamat, the toll charges for the link road to Mopa is being kept on hold. Kamat said, further decisions on charging toll for vehicles will now be taken only next year.
