Rajya Puraskar Awards presented

Governor Mridula Sinha presented the Rajya Puraskar awards to 50 scouts and guides at a function by the Bharat Scouts and Guides Association, Goa Branch. Deputy Chief Minister Francis D'Souza who is the President of the association was also present.
The Governor said the Bharat Scouts and Guides Association is doing a commendable job by inculcating in children values of humanism, brotherhood, peaceful co-existence, harmony and tolerance. She said this will help them make society a better place and also help in nation building. She hoped that more and more children join this human cause.
Francis D'Souza said that the scouts and guides are rendering excellent humanitarian service to society whenever the need arises. He said the training imparted to them should be put in use for the benefit of society.
Earlier PR Nadkarni, State chief commissioner in his welcome address listed the activities of the association.
The deputy chief minister presented awards to the best Scout/Guide and also for outstanding units.
State secretary James Fernandes gave a brief report of Rajya Puraskar Awards.
Joint secretary, Shobha Mhadgut proposed the vote of thanks.
