Usgaonkar later told the media that the all Goans should join the campaign to keep Goa clean and green. “Goa is a world tourist destination. Goa should remain as it is. If we don’t take care of the waste, it will become like Mumbai and other cities,” she said. She pointed out that people should not depend on NGOs to maintain their surroundings clean, adding that it is the responsibility of every citizen to take care of the environment.
Clean Margao, Green Margao’s convenor Rajendra Talak said that the participants at the rally have put up the board to clear the Sonsodo waste by April 2017 to convey a message that time is running out for them to resolve the imbroglio. The rally was organized by Clean Margao, Green Margao in association with Samrat club of Margao, Lions club of Margao-Arlem, Rotary midtown and others.
