Ramnath elected Usgao Sarpanch
PONDA: Ramnath Dangui was elected unopposed as sarpanch of Usgao Ganje panchayat. The post was vacant following the resignation of the earlier sarpanch, Tulshidas Prabhu on May 6. Deputy Sarpanch Sunanda Naik was acting sarpanch since then.
Speaking to The Goan, Dangui said he is committed to develop all 11 wards. “We will stress on employment to the youth. Seven out of eleven panch members were present for the meeting. I got support from them, and hence I am thankful to them,” he said.
Hemant Gawas from the Block Development Office at Ponda was the returning officer. Panchayat Secretary Honaji Morajkar was also present.
“There are several issues to be tackled. I will resolve them one by one. There is problem of garbage in market area and also repair of PDA market. I will try to do these works by seeking help of government,” said Dangui.
“There are many unemployed youth in our area and I will speak to officials of companies in Usgao and will try to give them employment,” he added.
