Health Minister Vishwajit Rane is in the spotlight again, this time for having allegedly told All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary and Goa in-charge Dr Chella Kumar that the BJP are “ruthless” and “murderers.”

Speaking at a Congress event at the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) on Tuesday, Dr Chella Kumar said, “I have told the media before that Vishwajit used to often call me in the year after he joined the BJP and speak to me for half an hour...45 minutes. He used to tell me that he was under pressure to leave the Congress and join the BJP. He used to call me regularly.”

Dr Chella Kumar continued, “He would tell me, “The BJP are not like the Congress. They are ruthless, they are murderers. They will go to any extent to kill people. They are after my family and my life, and that’s the reason I’m staying there.”

When asked if the Health Minister specified the name of any BJP member during these telephonic conversations, Dr Chella Kumar answered with “Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah.” “He has mentioned them and told me that they are murderers,” said Dr Chella Kumar.

The Congress leader said that he was ready to undergo any lie detection test for he was “not lying.”

He went on to tell media persons that even the day before he resigned from the Congress, Rane met him and told him to send someone to his house.

“Send someone to my house and you’ll come to know. They are after my life. So what to do... I have to save my family,” Rane is alleged to have told the Congress Goa in-charge.

When asked about the

Rafale audio leak, Dr Chella Kumar said, “Everyone knows it is the voice of Vishwajit. As usual he has denied it. He has requested for an enquiry, so the BJP needs to initiate it.”

Rane took to social media later in the evening to deny the statements made by Dr Chella Kumar calling them “made-up.”

“I have joined the BJP (of) my own will and not because I was threatened,” he said.
