Rape case: Tantrik gets 4 days police custody, mother 14 days JC

The tantrik who was allegedly involved in raping a minor has been remanded to four days of police custody while the mother of the minor who allegedly offered her daughter to the tantrik has been given 14 days of judicial custody.

The incident happened on Monday night and the accused tantrik, Ramakant Naik from Cansa, Tivim was arrested by Colvale Police the next day based on the complaint of the girl’s father.

The mother of the girl, who reportedly offered her daughter to the tantrik, was also arrested.

Police had informed that the mother of the girl was reportedly under the spell of the alleged accused who is said to be a practitioner of witchcraft.

The victim was lured into submitting herself to the tutelage of the tantrik but was tricked and sexually exploited by the accused.
