Re-build Babri masjid posters surface in Margao

The police stations of Margao, Fatorda and Maina-Curtorim on Sunday registered a case against unknown persons for putting up posters demanding the re-building of the Babri Masjid.
The poster stated, "Re-build the Babri Masjid. Lest we forget, 25 years of betrayal", were found prominently displayed in the areas of the police stations of Margao, Fatorda and Maina-Curtorim. The police have also confiscated the posters displayed at Margao, Rumdamol-Davorlim, Chandrawado and Housing Board Gogol. While the Margao police has registered a case against unknown members of the Popular Front of India, the Fatorda police said they have registered the FIR against unknown persons.
Fatorda police station in-charge, PI Navlesh Desai informed that the posters were put on government property, thus violating the provisions of the Defacement of Public Property Act. "Since the posters had come up on government property, the unknown persons have violated the provisions of the act," PI Navlesh said, adding that the posters that that had surfaced on government property at Chandrawado and at the Housing Board in the jurisdiction of Fatorda police station were attached.
Maina-Curtorim police informed that the police have registered an FIR against unknown persons for putting up a poster near a school at Rumdamol- Davorlim. "The poster has been removed and an offence registered for defacing government property," the police said.
Margao police informed that they have registered two FIRs against unknown members of the Popular Front of India for allegedly putting up the banners near the Malbhat masjid and one at Aquem. "They had put up the posters on government poles, thereby defacing public property," he added.
