In probably a first, a section of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) will undergo a much-needed ‘refresher course’ on Thursday. IRB Commandant Bosco George (IPS) issued an order seeking the presence of the personnel for the day-long camp.
“Our personnel carry out difficult and long hours of duty; and to ensure they remain a striking force for Goa Police, this refresher course is essential,” George told The Goan. Around 50 personnel have been shortlisted for the session, training of which will be conducted by experts in the field and senior officers.
The training that will comprise of yoga sessions, motivational talks, and work-related activities is reportedly a first for the IRBian whereas similar refresher training programmes for the district police are a regular feature.
The IRB personnel have often been roped-in for law and order duty besides bandobast, nakabandi as well as election duties within and outside the State.
