Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to prioritize the task at hand to make Goa 100 per cent Open Defecation Free (ODF).
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, the Curtorim MLA said it should not be difficult for the government to provide toilets to those people of Goa who till date defecate in the open which creates nuisance to the public.
“Goa despite being a literate and prosperous State and a tourist destination for travellers from both overseas and India is still not Open Defecation Free (ODF), especially in rural areas,” he said, while reminding that former Chief Minister Manohar Parrrikar had only set deadlines to make Goa ODF state without achieving the target.
