... Reiterates support to govt led by Parrikar

Insisting that there was conflict with former chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar and not with the BJP, PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar reiterated his support to the BJP government led by Manohar Parrikar.

He was addressing a gathering after launching the work to hot mix the main roads at Hankhane and Chandel. Others present at the event included Tourism Minister Babu Azgaonkar, ZP member Ramesh Sawal and Warkhand Sarpanch Sanjay Tulaskar.
Dhavalikar was reacting to queries by media persons on his relationship with the BJP, especially since he and his brother had been dropped as ministers by the previous BJP-led government, forcing the MGP to severe ties with the BJP in the assembly polls.
Commenting on the road projects at Hankhane and Chandel, Dhavalikar said Parrikar had made efforts to get funds through the Sagarmala Scheme, while he was defence minister at the time.
“The union road transport and highways minister gave his green signal to the project and Rs 40 crore is being utilised to hot mix this road. There are many tourist places in Pernem taluka which lack proper approach roads and these routes will also be built under the Sagarmala project,” Dhavalikar said.
