The residents have heaved a sigh of relief as the decision has come into effect during the SSC exam.
It may be recalled that a meeting of Goa Sound Pollution Monitoring Committee was convened recently under the leadership of North Goa Collector Nila Mohanan. Pernem deputy collector, SP, DySP and others were present for the meeting.
During the meeting, the committee members urged the the Collector to take action against loud music played by various night parties along the coastal area.
Acting on the demand, the Collector ordered all the officers concerned to take strict action against such events.
On the same day, some residents and committee members had demanded with Tourism Minister Manohar (Babu) Azgaonkar to take action against these parties. Azgaonkar immediately contacted Pernem PI Rahul Parab and directed him to take action in the matter.
SP Mahesh Gaonkar, Pernem Deputy Collector Harish Adkonkar, Mamlatdar Isha Sawant, Pernem PI Rahul Parab along with police force conducted inspection along the Pernem coast to check the violations.
Pernem Deputy Collector Harish Adkonkar said during the inspection late Friday evening they did not find any night parties going on.
“In future, officers will visit the coastal areas to check if any night parties are organised in the area. If any parties violate the norms, then do not hesitate to complain to the officers,” appealed Adkonkar.
