PANAJI: Residents in several parts of South Goa will experience restricted water supply on August 3 as the 100 MLD Salauli Water Treatment Plant (JICA WTP) at Xelpem will remain shut from 7 am to 11 am to facilitate urgent interconnection work under the South West Water Supply Project (SWSP).
According to the Public Works Department, the temporary shutdown will affect water supply to Sanvordem (Guddemoll), Quepem, Balli Pumping Station, Margao city, Fatorda, Raia, Fatepur, Handka, Cansaulim, Nagoa, Cortalim, Dabolim, Vasco and Mormugao, where consumers are likely to experience restricted supply during the day.
Officials said the 160 MLD Salauli Water Treatment Plant will continue to operate normally throughout the shutdown period, helping minimise the impact on water distribution.
